Agreed, but The Pacific is still better than almost anything else. BoB was just THAT good and will never be bettered IMO.

Band of Brothers and the Pacific are equally good, it just depends which on you watched first whether you think one is better than the other.

The Pacific was well-made and well-acted. Both series were very close to historically accurate and the Pacific just suffered from the fact that it was not as good a story. BoB was about one unit, the same group of people, which you could follow through the narrative, Pacific not so much.
In my opinion.

Yeah agreed with that .... just 2 magnificent pieces of TV and as a poster said it's a shame that we cannot do anything on HBO's scale... Stephen Ambrose (a US military historian) wrote both books for BofB's & the Pacific... he also wrote a magnificent piece called Pegasus Bridge (about Howard and the Ox & Bucks) ... whilst I was reading it I was thinking all the time... shit this would make a superb series...

Stomper couldn't agree more.i dought we have the budget unfortunately.
Band of brothers is pretty much faultless.the last episode especially had me in bits.Pacific also deserves a mention.
It's would be brilliant to see a series about British servicemen in the same light but would take some doing.
